Funny Time Carsharing is a car rental service for short term trips around Phuket Island: from 30 mins to 30 days. You can register in the app, find the nearest car and go on a trip, to a restaurant or to a shopping center.
Your first ride can be completely free — use a promo code that gives 30 minutes to all new drivers registered for the first time. You can give free minutes to your friends to get bonus points to use on future rides, so they can also drive for free 30 minutes,
You don’t have to go anywhere to book a car: it’s all online. Download the app from the AppStore or Google Play, then log in with your international driver’s license, passport, and a bank card valid in Thailand. Once we’ve verified your photo documents, we’ll give you access to the service: it usually takes no more than 30 minutes.
Once registered, you will have access to all cars in the “Green Zone” on the map in the app: the area of Phuket Island where you can complete the rental and leave the car for the next user. On this map, circles mark the cars that can be reserved: regular cars and pickups are light green, premium cars are dark green and electric cars are blue.
For every trip booking you will have 20 free minutes to get to the car after you have reserved it (during this time other users cannot take the car). If you change your mind, you can cancel your reservation, but most likely the car will be available for immediate pickup by other Funny Time users. And your next available reservation will be available only 2 hours after you cancel the first one.
To find your reserved car on the street, you can “flash your headlights” through the app. Only 10% of our cars have Funny Time branded stickers, and the other 90% have no distinctive markings to make you feel good on the roads and no different from regular local drivers.
The doors are opened online through the app, and then 5 free minutes are accrued to inspect and take photos of the car: 1 photo inside and 4 photos outside. Inspect the car for damage and check that your documents are in order. If everything is in order drive off, if you notice serious damage or missing documents in the glove box — let us know via the app.
Do I need a security deposit? Who pays for gas and car maintenance? We take care of all that! You only pay for the rental car. Gas, maintenance, insurance, car wash and parking in the city are our responsibility.
